Who we are
This website, avalonapartments.nz, is run by Avalon Apartments, the team bringing the 72 apartments at 41 Percy Cameron Street, Avalon, Lower Hutt 5011 to market. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Avalon Apartments.

What we collect
We only collect personal details that you choose to give us through a form on this site:
- your name, email address and phone number
- whether you are interested in buying, renting or Rent to Buy, the kind of home you prefer and your rough timing
- a preferred viewing date, if you ask for one
- anything you write in the message box
- a record that you agreed to be contacted, and when
We do not ask for payment details, identity documents or financial information on this website. You do not have to give us your details to browse the site, but we cannot reply to an enquiry without a way to reach you.
How we use it
- to reply to your enquiry, arrange a viewing or progress a rental application you have started
- to tell you when apartments are released and share updates about Avalon, where you have agreed to be contacted
- to understand demand for different homes so releases can be planned
- to keep the website secure and stop misuse of our forms
Registering your interest reserves nothing and commits you to nothing. We do not sell your details, and we do not use them for anything unrelated to Avalon.
Who sees it
Your details are seen only by the people who need them to help you: the Avalon project team, and the licensed real estate and property management professionals appointed to handle Avalon sales and rentals.
We use trusted service providers to run this website and store enquiries securely. Enquiries are stored in a database hosted in Sydney, Australia, and the website is delivered by a hosting provider with servers in New Zealand and overseas. These providers act on our instructions and may not use your details for their own purposes. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Cookies, videos and advertising
The site works without any account, and we do not run analytics that build a profile of you. A few features keep small settings in your own browser, such as a plan you save in the Rent to Buy calculator or your choice on the Avalon TV player. These stay on your device and are not sent to us. Figures you enter in the calculator are never sent to us.
Videos are embedded from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode. If you play one, YouTube receives information about your device and may set its own cookies.
When we advertise on Google, this site uses Google’s advertising tag to measure whether an advertisement led to an enquiry. The tag sets cookies and tells Google that an enquiry was made. It does not send Google your name, email address, phone number or message. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we do not load the tag. You can also manage advertising choices in your Google ad settings.
To protect our forms from misuse, your IP address is used briefly to limit how many requests can be sent in a short period.
How we protect and keep it
The site is served only over an encrypted connection. Enquiries go straight to a private database that cannot be read from a web browser, and access is limited to signed-in members of the Avalon team.
We keep your details only for as long as we need them for the purposes above, or as the law requires, and then delete them or make them anonymous. If a privacy breach ever creates a risk of serious harm, we will tell you and the Privacy Commissioner.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- tell you what information we hold about you and give you a copy
- correct anything that is wrong
- stop contacting you, or delete your details
Email hello@avalonapartments.nz and we will respond as soon as we reasonably can, and within 20 working days. If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Avalon moves from launch to settled homes. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.
